Bed wetting solutions are very important to parents when they have an older child with a bed wetting problem. There are many stop bed wetting products on the market today that offer relief in keeping a child dry at night, but some of these bed wetting products are not really solutions that will cure the bed wetting forever. When a child continues to wetting the bed or redevelops bed wetting past the age of 5, a thorough examination should be given by a doctor. In most cases, bed wetting will stop as the child’s bladder develops and his or her body learns to recognize the signs of a full bladder during the night.

There are several bed wetting solutions available for parents to use in order to help this process.  Among these are the following:

1) Bed Wetting Alarms
2) Hypnosis
3) Chiropractic Therapy
4) Exercises to improve bladder muscles

Some temporary bed wetting solutions available:

1) Plastic Pants, diapers or absorbent underwear
2) Waterproof mattress pads, covers and liners
3) Medication

Parents should keep in mind that children rarely wet the bed on purpose and almost always feel ashamed about their accidents.  Parents should encourage the child and express confidence that the child will soon be able to stay dry at night. Some things that parents can do to help are:

1) Limit liquids before bedtime
2) Have the child to go to the bathroom before bedtime
3) Wake the child during the night to go to the bathroom
4) Praise the child on dry mornings

So, if your child wets every night don’t be discouraged.  The good news is that almost all children who wet the bed eventually stop!
